Our Philosophy and Goals
We take the time to get to know our patients. We feel strongly that a good doctor-patient relationship improves the overall quality of health care. When you feel at ease in our office, you will be more comfortable asking questions or offering suggestions. Our simple goal is to provide modern, professional eye health care; fashionable, well fitting eye wear; and safe contact lens wear. We want to help you and your family enjoy a lifetime of good vision.
Appointments
Non emergency appointments are normally made in advance, although walk-ins are accepted if there is available time. Since we feel your time is valuable, we strive to run on schedule. If rescheduling, please give us at least 24 hours notice for the benefit of other patients who may be in need of an examination or emergency care that day.
Emergencies
Eye injuries, other eye health problems, broken glasses or contact lens difficulties that occur during normal office hours can be handled quickly by calling our office for an appointment that day. Emergency care is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling our office at (407)671-5445 or (407)657-2020.
Office Fees and Insurance
For non-emergency office visits, payment is expected at the time of service. Payment may be made with cash, check, Visa, Mastercard or Discover. We accept Worker's Compensation, Medicare and many other health plans that include vision benefits.
Office Hours
Not every patient who has the desire for contact lenses is a good, safe candidate for contact lens wear. Since we take contact lens wear seriously, we screen potential contact lens patients carefully before fitting. We stress frequent follow-up care for our contact lens patients. Contact lens wear, especially extended wear, without proper instruction, supervision and follow-up care by a doctor can be sight-threatening. We are not only concerned with safe and comfortable contact lens wear for the present, we want to provide for continued lens wear well into the future. As contact lens specialists, we maintain a large in-office inventory of re-usable and disposable daily and extended wear soft lenses, gas permeable rigid lenses, bifocal and post-cataract lenses, and therapeutic contact lenses for corneal disease or trauma.
About Our Eye Examination
To provide you with the best eye care and the latest information, doctors as well as staff attend several educational seminars each year. Our training, experience and state of the art equipment combine to provide professional, full scope primary eye care for infants as well as adults.
Our comprehensive eye examination takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete. It consists of an extensive health history, an internal evaluation of the health of your eyes, including tests for glaucoma, cataracts and other eye diseases. In addition, tests for color vision, depth perception, blood pressure measurement are performed, as well as a refraction, to determine if you are in need of glasses or contact lenses.
As contact lens specialists, the doctors at Eye Associates of Winter Park fit contact lenses of all types, including tinted lenses, disposable daily wear lenses, lenses for astigmatism, bifocal and trifocal lenses, and even newly developed lenses for Corneal Refractive Therapy. We are not only concerned with safe and comfortable contact lens wear for the present, we want to provide for continued lens wear well into the future. Therefore, our patients are screened very carefully before being fit in contact lenses. Contact lens fitting fees vary depending on the complexity of the fit.
