See What Our Eye Examinations Can Do for You at Eye Associates of Winter Park

Our comprehensive eye examination takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete. It consists of:

  • An extensive health history including a review of your current ocular and systemic medications
  • External and internal evaluation of the health of your eyes including dilation (Non-dilated exams with instruments that are marketed as ‘alternatives’ to a true dilated retinal exam do NOT allow for a complete evaluation of your peripheral retina!)
  • Evaluation for dry eyes, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, amblyopia (lazy eye), eye disease from diabetes, allergic, viral or bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and all other eye conditions and diseases
  • Examination for any eye conditions associated with strokes,  rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus, multiple sclerosis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, thyroid disease, systemic sarcoidosis, hypertension, albinism,  etc.
  • An ocular neurological evaluation, including eye alignment, eye muscle movements, pupillary responses, and peripheral vision tests
  • Color vision testing
  • Depth perception analysis
  • Blood pressure measurement
  • Refraction, to determine if you are in need of glasses or contact lenses

Appointments for Regular Eye Examinations

Non emergency eye examination appointments are normally made in advance, although walk-ins are accepted if there is available time. If you need to reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours notice for the benefit of other patients who may be in need of an examination or emergency care that day. If you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice or fail to show up for your appointment, there will be a $25 charge.
